
Lusaka, 20/01/2023: Following the close of the 2023 World Economic Forum held in Davos, Switzerland, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director, Kristalina Georgieva will travel to Africa with hopes of strengthening financial safety nets, especially among indebted countries. The IMF chief has since indicated that she would visit Zambia between 21st and 24th January 2023 on a similar agenda. Ms Georgieva has indicated that she hopes Zambia would become the second nation after Chad to complete a debt treatment process under the G20 – Common Framework.
